About IISER Mohali
Located in Mohali, Punjab, India, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali (IISER Mohali) is a self-governing public research university that was founded in 2007. It is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), founded by the Indian government’s Ministry of Human Resources and Development to conduct cutting-edge scientific research and offering undergraduate and graduate science education. It was founded following IISER Pune and IISER Kolkata, and the Indian government has designated it as an Institute of National Importance. The institute prioritizes both multidisciplinary and pure research in a range of scientific domains.
About the Summer Research Program at IISER Mohali
For the 2024 IISER Mohali Summer Research Program, applications are being accepted. Selected students may work on specific summer projects with IISER Mohali faculty for 6–8 weeks during the summer at the level of BSc (Second Year/Third Year), MSc (First Year), or equivalent. The program’s main goal is to inspire teachers and students by exposing them to research methods and creating a research environment. It is anticipated that this exposure to various scientific domains will encourage students to pursue careers in science and support educators in delivering science instruction.
Qualifications
Selected students at the BSc (Second Year/Third Year), MSc (First Year), or equivalent level will be able to work with IISER Mohali faculty on specific summer projects for 6–8 weeks during the summer.
Important Dates
The dates of the summer program are set for May 15, 2024, through July 22, 2024. Requests for the summer program to be flexible and pursued after this date will not be accommodated. Thus, if you would like to apply, please make sure that these dates don’t clash with any other summertime obligations you may have.
Procedure for Selection
You may fall into one of the following categories with your summer program selection.
Category A: Applicants are financially supported to pursue summer programs by their own scholarships.
Category B: SSR-SERB grants from specific faculty members may provide competitive support to some applicants.
Category C: The remaining candidates.
There will be no additional stipend, fellowship, or financial assistance for travel, accommodation, etc. from IISER Mohali. The IISER Mohali Hostel Mess offers its services to students on a pay basis.
