About the Internship and Software Training
Google is committed to advancing the careers of software developers and computer scientists, especially those who have historically been underrepresented in the profession. A program that bridges the gap between academic studies and a practical internship could be beneficial for many aspiring computer scientists.With such a program, it hopes to encourage these underrepresented students to stay in the industry.
In light of this, it is happy to announce the STEP internship in India for 2025. By the summer of 2025, it will be available to underrepresented groups pursuing computer science or a related field who are in their second year of college.
Professional growth, skills-based training, and a software project are the three primary components of this curriculum. This program, which is dedicated to tackling diversity in our organization and the technology sector, is available to all eligible university students. We encourage students who belong to a historically underrepresented group in the technology industry to apply.
You will collaborate with a group of Google employees and other STEP Interns on a development project as part of our summer trainee program. Along with being exposed to tools and programming languages, you will improve your coding abilities. You will be paired with a Google Engineer to help you navigate your summer experience, attend regular technical sessions led by Google executives, and participate in networking, community building, and social events.
Qualifications
- are enrolled in a bachelor’s program with computer science or a similar technical field as their major or intended major.
- expertise with a general-purpose programming language or languages.
- the capacity to participate fully in technical conversations and speak English fluently.
Preferred credentials:
- Is presently enrolled in a full-time degree program and plans to rejoin once the internship is over.
- The capacity to finish a 10- to 12-week, full-time internship from May to August 2025 (specific program dates will be disclosed later in the process).
- Outstanding programming abilities in languages like Python, Java, and C++
