STANDFORD UNIVERSITY OFFERS FREE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT ONLINE COURSE

Located in Stanford, California, Stanford University is a private research university formerly known as Leland Stanford Junior University. In honor of their only child, Leland, the railroad magnate and eighth governor of California as well as the sitting senator at the time, Leland Stanford and his wife Jane founded it in 1885. Stanford boasts one of the biggest campuses in the country, spanning 8,180 acres (3,310 hectares).

In 1891, the university opened for enrollment as a coeducational, nondenominational school. After Leland passed away in 1893 and again when the 1906 San Francisco earthquake severely damaged much of the campus, it struggled financially.[13] Following World War II, Frederick Terman, the university’s provost, inspired and supported faculty and graduates’ entrepreneurialism to build a self-sufficient local industry, which would later be known as Silicon Valley.
